A key objective of the NDPP is environmental, safety and health management (ESH). Because of the NDPP’s considerable size and complexity, effective ESH management is critical to the overall success of the programme. The NDPP has adopted an integrated ESH management system to identify, minimise, and eliminate risks.
ESH management at the NDPP starts with the concept of Safety in Design. Safety in Design identifies risks from construction during the planning and design phases of development. During construction, Safety in Design eliminates dangers and ensures the port is a safe place to work and maintain.
Through continuous communication between all parties will facilitate effective ESH management. Additionally, local legislative requirements and project standards relating to the environment, safety and health will be distributed to all team members. The NDPP is dedicated to the concept that all injuries are preventable and promotes a Zero Injury philosophy.
